Data Collection
At Tjwaal, we are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, issued by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). We collect the following data: full name, national ID/passport number, email address, phone number, booking and travel details, geolocation data, and payment information.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data for specific and legitimate purposes, including: processing bookings and providing travel services, communicating with users, compliance with laws and regulations, enhancing user experience, and security and identity verification.
Data Sharing
We only share your data with: service providers directly related to operations (hotels, airlines, visa agents), government authorities upon official request, and third parties only with your explicit consent.
Data Security
Data is stored on secure servers within Saudi Arabia or in countries with adequate data protection standards. We use encryption and security systems to prevent unauthorized access. Data is processed only for defined purposes and in accordance with Saudi regulations.
Cookies
We collect data through electronic forms within the app, account registration and service usage, third parties (e.g., payment gateways or global booking systems), and geolocation data with user consent. When the purpose of data collection ends or upon user request, the data is securely and permanently deleted using certified methods.
ChatGPT Hotel Search Integration
Tjwaal offers a hotel search app in ChatGPT that lets you find a hotel and see live room prices. Nothing is booked or paid in ChatGPT: the app does not collect payment details and does not create bookings, holds or orders. To book, you follow a link to tjwaal.com, where the rest of this policy applies. Data we receive: when you use the app, OpenAI sends Tjwaal the details of your hotel request (hotel name and city, check-in and check-out dates, number of rooms, adults per room, children's ages and language), a pseudonymous user identifier assigned by OpenAI, and, when available, an approximate location hint. We do not receive your name, email, phone number, account, payment details, IP address or ChatGPT conversation, and the app does not use cookies. Pseudonymous identifier: OpenAI's identifier does not tell us who you are, but it stays the same across your requests, so they can be linked to each other. We use it to apply usage limits and to troubleshoot the service. Location: we use only the country from the location hint, to apply our regional availability rules and, when a request comes from outside the countries we serve (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman), to record it in our service logs. We never use your city, region or coordinates. Purposes: we use this information to find hotels and live prices for your request, to apply our regional availability rules, to protect the service and our suppliers from misuse and overload, to operate and troubleshoot the service, and to count visits to tjwaal.com that come from ChatGPT. Sharing: to get prices, we send only the hotel, dates and occupancy, including children's ages, to our travel-technology provider, which prices the stay with hotel suppliers. We never send them your identifier, location, language or IP address. Error reports go to our error-monitoring provider without your request details, identifier or location. Retention: price results, usage counters, queued searches and any session records are deleted automatically within one hour of your last request. Our service logs record when each request was made; for price searches, the hotel, check-in date, number of nights, rooms and guests, and language; a shortened coded form of the identifier for price searches and for requests over our usage limits; and, for requests from outside the countries above, the country. They are kept in daily files, and only the 14 most recent files are retained. Your rights: because we do not know who you are, we cannot find your ChatGPT records on request; they are deleted automatically as described above. For privacy questions, contact privacy@tjwaal.com.
